BIDRemedy is gone. This is where everyone went.
A practical guide for people looking for BIDR, BIIDForFreedom, or the wider BID community after the May 2026 shutdown.
Where is BIDRemedy?
BIDRemedy - commonly abbreviated BIDR - went offline in May 2026. There was no warning, no announcement, no archive, and no transition plan. People logged in one day and found nothing there. If you arrived here typing where is BIDRemedy, BIDR down, BIDRemedy not loading, or BIDR shut down - that is what happened. It has not come back.
Is BIDRemedy coming back?
Almost certainly not. No public statement has been made by the BIDR owners before or after the shutdown. The domain has shown no signs of activity. The community has stopped waiting and moved on.
What is the BIDRemedy replacement?
talking.bid is the direct successor. It was built by ex-BIDRemedy members specifically in response to the shutdown, with the same coverage BIDR had - amputation identity, paralysis and wheelchair identity, sensory identity (blind, deaf), pretenders, simming, surgery discussion, coping with The Wave, and everyday peer support.
If you were on BIDR, you will recognise the place. The room layout is similar, the tone is the same, and many of the same people are already inside.
How is talking.bid different from BIDRemedy?
Two things you should know:
- Infrastructure is durable. The forum runs on Cloudflare Workers + D1 - low cost, no single owner-billing dependency. A single payment failure or owner departure cannot take it down the way it took BIDR and BFF down.
- Public surface is minimal. The forum itself is private and unindexed. The only public pages are this one, what BID is, the community history, and a few expression-specific landing pages. Members talk in private.
What about BIIDForFreedom (BFF)?
BFF closed earlier, in 2024. Many former BFF members had already migrated to BIDR before the BIDR shutdown, and from BIDR onward to here. People searching BFF replacement, BIIDForFreedom successor, or where did BFF go land in the same place: talking.bid. The full timeline, including Usenet, Yahoo Groups, the fighting-it mailing list, and transabled.org, is on the community history page.
What else is still out there?
- r/biid on Reddit - public subreddit, smaller, useful for first contact but limited depth.
- Private Discord servers - several survived the BIDR shutdown, mostly invite-only. Ask in the forum if you are looking for one.
- bodyintegritydysphoria.com - the other legitimate BID site, clinical/informational in tone rather than peer support.
What do I do now?
Three steps, in order:
- Register here with an email. Verification is one click.
- Introduce yourself in the introductions room. Mention if you are coming from BIDR or BFF - someone will recognise you.
- Read the community guidelines. The TL;DR at the top is the short version; same spirit as BFF and BIDR before it.
You are not late, you are not alone, and you have not lost the community. It moved. Welcome back in.
